Johnson Big Wheel® Mower of Ridgeland, MS, which produced quality Big Wheel® Mowers and Edgers since 1962, was recently acquired by MacKissic, Inc. Johnson's manufacturing facility has been completely transplanted and integrated into the MacKissic plant in Parker Ford, PA. According to Mike Smollock, VP of sales and marketing for MacKissic, it is their goal to continue to produce the same high quality product and workmanship for which Johnson Big Wheel® was renowned. MacKissic originally looked at acquiring Johnson Big Wheel® because of the similarities in product quality and craftsmanship to the MacKissic products and its entrepreneurial beginnings and growth.

The Johnson Big Wheel® line-up includes 4 models of push mowers and 3 models of self-propelled mowers. The legendary strength of the Johnson Big Wheel® is attributable to its ultra strong tube frame that completely supports the entire mower. This mower does not rely on the mower deck for any support, and the deck is completely replaceable. The Big Wheel® Mowers also feature extra strong angled T-type handles that provide a better hand position for trimming along fences or brush, 6" semi-pneumatic front wheels with recessed positioning to allow front trimming (unlike mowers with extended wheels), 16" heavy-duty puncture-less bicycle tires on the rear wheels with ball bearings, steel blade hub housing, and 4 position adjustable cutting height.
All models are available with an optional mulching kit.
